Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Watch and enjoy!

This video made me cry for joy, and not only because of the beautiful music. It was the words:

The kingdom of this world
Is become the kingdom of our Lord,
And of His Christ, and of His Christ;
And He shall reign for ever and ever,
For ever and ever, forever and ever,

King of kings, and Lord of lords,
King of kings, and Lord of lords,
And Lord of lords,
And He shall reign,
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings, forever and ever,
And Lord of lords,

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

G.F. Handel wrote this song as the climax to his Messiah and it became the most famous piece in it. But the words are profound, and most people do not see the depths of them.

To think that one day, the world will sing, when Christ will come to rule this world literally and politically. We will all sing for sheer joy at the overwhelming glory of Christ. He will be King, as was prophesied, and He will reign, and of His Kingdom there will be no end.

It is said that King George II unexpectedly and against the norm stood, out of the profound influence this piece had on his soul.

And yet, here now, on this dark planet we call home, Christ is seldom in our thoughts, or even in our churches. He is hated by men, and we prefer on Christmas to speak of what He gives us than to glory in Him, the Creator Himself. We worship the gifts and the honor the people, but forsake the Christ, Immanuel (“God with us”) who came into this world and was named Jesus (after Hebrew name of “Joshua”, meaning “Yahweh Saves”).

Christ came, God incarnate became a man and lived among us, Immanuel called Jesus, to “save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). Glory to God, in the Highest!

Worship Him this Christmas, for He gave us Himself to take away our greatest problem, our sin, and give us our greatest need, eternal happiness with God.

Merry Christmas!
